Sage Wisdom West Episode 7: Sagebrush
Sage grouse use sagebrush year-round. Humans use it too. Sagebrush leaves are harvested by tribes and brewed as tea for medicinal purposes. Sagebrush bark can also be harvested but for a different reason. Shoshone-Bannock tribal members, Bobette and Russ Haskett, let me tag along while they harvested bitterroot in the high desert. That’s where I learned about wearing sage.
