Grizz #399 is the most popular bear in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. She first showed up roadside with cubs in Grand Teton National Park in 2006. Her reveal caused massive traffic jams, still does today. She’s seen regularly on the road as are many other bears now. That’s why the Wildlife Brigade started in 2007. They are the park staff and volunteers who break up bear jams and keep you, and the animals, a safe distance from each other.
